The Enhanced Primary Care or EPC program enables GPs to plan and coordinate the health care of patients with chronic or terminal medical conditions by referring them to allied health services for treatment, including physiotherapy.  This allows the patient five Medicare compensated visits within a 12 month period.

Private health insurance benefits cannot be claimed for these services. Patients should be advised that they must choose whether to access one or the other.
